CryoGas: You’ve talked about your people.
Can you tell us a bit about the changes you
have made to your products?
York: Taylor-Wharton Cryogenics offers a
wide array of cryogenic products for a variety
of uses. Understanding the requirements of
our customers and their markets is important
to us. We have realigned our sales staff so
they can focus their efforts in specific areas to
best serve their customers’ needs.
One of those realignments occurred with
our refrigerator, freezer, and dewars product
line. I separated those products into a distinct
business unit under the brand CryoScience by
Taylor-Wharton™. This product line differs
from our cryogenic gas storage products primarily by its end markets, which are the life
science/medical and animal sciences fields.
These sectors have continued to grow even
through the recession and are expected to be
a continued source of growth for Taylor-Wharton. Over the past year, we have
invested heavily in this product area.
We recently opened a new state-of-the-art
facility in Theodore, Alabama dedicated to
manufacturing the CryoScience by Taylor-Wharton™ lines. The new facility provides a
40 percent increase in production capacity,
improved production flows, reduced cycle
times, and a controlled-atmosphere environment for improved quality.
In addition, CryoScience by Taylor-Whar-
ton™ has added dedicated personnel around
the globe: Andy Pazahanick, newly-appointed
General Manager; Luke Bradshaw, North
American Sales Manager; Jim Gordon, Techni-
cal Director; Bill Smits, Sales Manager for
Australia and Asia; Aeron Avakian, European
Sales Manager; Kirk Waddey, Global Product
Manager; Matthew Seeds, Customer Service
Manager; and Shelia Zinnerman, Inside Sales
Representative. Additional sales, marketing,
and customer service personnel have been
added to fully serve the needs of our customers.
Taylor-Wharton’s newly-designed MicroBulk tank
was developed to provide a quality product for our
Chinese operations and meet the increasing need
in China for MicroBulk containers.
The new XT21-AI container, a new CryoScience product
in the Taylor-Wharton Extended Time (XT) line, was
especially designed for cryogenic storage of specimens
in the animal husbandry industry.
